President's Welcome

Welcome to the web site for the Charlotte-Metrolina Chapter (NC04) of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). The chapter was started in 1973 by 71 retired military officers and serves the Charlotte Metropolitan area including surrounding counties of North Carolina and the "Upstate" area of South Carolina. Today, we are a growing chapter of more than 90 members from all branches of the military services. Our mission statement is in concert with the Military Officers Association of America purposes and objectives. The goal is to foster fraternal relations among retired, active and former officers of the uniformed services and their Reserve and National Guard components. Our aim is to actively promote the protection of the rights and interests of members of the uniformed services, their family members, including survivors, provide useful services for members and their families, and serve the community, the active military forces (past, present and future) and our nation.

In 2014, 2015 and 2016 the chapter received the 5-Star Level of Excellence award from national MOAA, the highest recognition for a chapter. In 2017 the Chapter was awarded a 4-Star Level-of-Excellence Award, a 5-Star Level in 2018, a 4-Star Level in 2019 and another 5-Star Level of Excellence Award for 2020, 2021 and 2022.

We invite all current and past officers of the United States Uniformed Services and their spouses to come and join us in our quest to fulfill our mission to help our active duty and retired armed forces personnel, support local JROTC programs with awards and college scholarships and enjoy the "common camaraderie" we all share. Our chapter meetings are normally the 3rd Sunday of each month except for the summer months of June, July and August. We look forward to you joining us.
