The traditional method is by personal check or cash to the secretary or treasurer providing you have included a membership form. Renewal forms are included with the Chapter Newsletter beginning in November and continuing into the new year. As of January 2014 MOAA National made available a new online membership dues collection tool to help assist with new chapter members joins and renewals. Go to the MOAA.org web site to access the Online Renewal Tool.
Chapter Dues Per Year:
Chapter membership: $30.00
Surviving Spouse: $10.00
The membership of the Chapter is composed of men and women who are serving and have served on active duty as commissioned or warrant officers in a U.S. uniformed service (i.e., Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, U. S. Space Force, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the Public Health Service) and the Reserve and National Guard, and other components of these services as well as surviving spouses of any deceased individuals who would, if living, be eligible for membership. It is desired that applicants be members of National MOAA or willing to join. Chapter dues are $30.00 annually for regular members; auxiliary members (surviving spouses) pay $10.00 annual dues. For additional information regarding membership classes please see Article 1, Section 2 of Chapter By-Laws at Documents Tab of Home Screen.
Chapter meetings all start with a social time to mingle and "schmooze" with fellow officers, spouses, active duty personnel and guests. Following the social time a business meeting is conducted to discuss chapter business and future activities. Meals are eaten following the business meeting and then the program speaker is introduced. Two programs are held during the year that do not have speakers. During our December meeting we celebrate Christmas with a meal and special music program featuring Christmas Carols. Once a year a social event is planned so that we can meet with members of our Satellite Chapter in Davidson, NC, just north of Charlotte.
